How the Desk reads a name — methodology

The Desk assembles one read from the checks we already run. A name "made the grade" when it cleared every mechanical check that applies to it today — business quality first. It is a quality grade to test yourself, never a buy list and never a forecast of return.

The grade is the Hunt's: every name is graded on the same plain checks — business, trend, how far it tends to move, and the gap back to its own 1-year high. The four checks, and the measurement behind them, are set out in full on the Hunt's methodology.

Why so few, and why the count is shown

Clearing every check is a strict bar, so most days only a handful of names make the grade — and some days none. The count is shown plainly: a low number is the honest base rate, not a failure.

Making the grade says a name cleared our mechanical checks today — a quality grade, not a prediction that it will rise, and not advice to buy, sell, or size anything. You decide, and you execute on your own broker.
