Either way, a clean result is not a clean bill of health — and we say so on every screen.

Your trade list is read in your browser and never uploaded — to compare against buy & hold we send only the symbol and date range, and we log anonymous usage counts, never your trades.

Whichever you pick, a trade list is a re-test — not a clean bill of health. It can't see repaint or how many versions you tried, so we say that on every result.

Why re-test a backtest you already ran?
TradingView's Strategy Tester fills at the exact price with no cost by default — so its result is a best case, not a live one. We add realistic costs, compare every trade to buy & hold, and show the whole glass. The honest truth is that most strategies don't beat holding once costs are in — the whole point is to find the rare one that does before you risk money on it.
What a trade list can't catch — repaint, look-ahead, and how much you tuned it to the past — is exactly what a clean rebuild catches. Rebuild your rules in the sandbox and we run them bar-by-bar, closed-bar-safe, and count your whole search.
